The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) are a group of four anthropomorphic turtles who are trained in ninjutsu and fight crime, primarily against their arch-nemesis, The Shredder. They were created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and first appeared in Mirage Studios’ comic book series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in May 1984.
